History

The Falcons School for Girls became part of the Alpha Plus Group at the turn of the century. Previously, the school was known as Beacon House, a co-educational school which specialised in Early Years provision. Now firmly established as a school for girls aged 3-11, we are housed in a grand Victorian house with the addition of a dedicated Nursery, IT suite and Art/Science studio.

Ethos

The Falcons Girls believes that school life should be valued for itself and not only as a preparation for adulthood. At the heart of the school's aims is the intellectual, cultural and social development of all of our girls. We aim to provide a safe environment for all our pupils, staff and visitors, and maintain effective partnerships between them.

We believe that all girls need the support of parents to make good progress in school. The Falcons Girls regards effective and two-way communication with parents as vitally important. We strive to build positive links with the parents of each girl by keeping them informed about the way in which the girls are being taught and the progress which they are making.

Our pupils and their parents receive formal school reports, and these are supplemented by evenings set aside for each year group, when parents discuss pupils' progress with their teachers. Parents are encouraged to contact the school at other times when they are concerned about any aspect of their child's progress or welfare; similarly, we will contact parents on any matter of concern.
