Year One focuses on facilitating the transition between the Early Years play based learning and the more formal demands of Key Stage One (Years One and Two). The Year One curriculum covers a broad range of subjects including mathematics and English, ICT, Science as well as humanities. Drama, music, physical education (including swimming), French, ballet and art are also part of the curriculum and are taught by specialist teachers. Year One is involved in lots fun activities, interesting events and memorable days out such, to name but just a few this academic year, a trip to the theatre to see ‘Beauty and the Beast’, visits to Kew Gardens and Odds Farm and a day at the Science Museum. Other highlights this year have been Design and Technology days and Shakespeare Day not to mention the Christmas party and an Easter egg hunt!
